The images of Shaolin Monks are cheerful and look childlike, this could well be due to the fact that the word Shaolin stands for Young Forest. Shaolin was a monk who dedicated his life to the temple to preserve it and protect it from dangers. Shaolin was also a messenger of Buddhism. The Temple he protected is now the Shaolin Monastery and is located in China. The Shaolin monks are also known for the self-defense form of Kung Fu that they practice. They are masters of this sport and used it in the past to help the emperors counter the threat of Japan. Unfortunately, in 1723, Qing elector Yinzhen viewed the monks themselves as a danger and forbade the monks to fight any longer. However, the Shaolin monks decided to continue in secret and so the Triad was born. A red flag was added for the fighting monks and the black flag was used among the best fighters.
