The wood is weather and frost resistant. The containers are screwed together very firmly due to stainless steel mounting material. The bottom and sides are provided with an anti-root cloth to prevent soil and roots from penetrating outside. Don't be alarmed if you see some light stains on the hardwood. This is normal and a natural process. The "bleeding" of the wood will disappear on its own. The color of the hardwood can become a bit grayer in color over time. If you want to prevent this, you can treat the material twice a year with oil especially for hardwood. However, this is not a must, the graying has no further impact on the quality and lifespan of the wood.
